 MEMORY PICTURE PAIRS
TARGET CONTENT N° 5: careers
11th Graders
Aim: Expressing opinions and preferences.

Materials: Power Point, sheets of paper.
Duration: Preparation: 1 hour. Playing the game: 15 minutes

Language focus: What do you want to be...? Why? Would you like to...?
Aim of the game: Students to express what they want to be in the future and also they have to match the corresponding career description to the picture card which matches.

INTRODUCTION
At the beginning of the class students will see a video about jobs and professions as a way to introduce the topic, and for students to recognize different types of careers. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnP-Q7Y9bI0)
PREPARATION
1.      Ask the students to get in pairs.
2.      When students are already in pairs, ask them to prepare a short dialogue about: What they would like to be in the future. Students should make use of some structures like: What do you want to be...? Why? Would you like to...?
ACTIVITY
1.      Ask students to get in 2 groups.
2.      When students are in groups, they will find on the floor turned downwards some picture cards and some descriptions that matches with each picture card.
3.      All that students should do is try to find the respective picture card for each description.
4.      In this way the students will form a picture pair.
5.      The group with the most picture pairs is the winner.
