THE GIRAFFE
TARGET CONTENT N° 1: IDENTIFICATION OF Family members and partner’s RELATIVES 8th Graders
Aim: Recognizing of family members and partner’s relatives.

Duration: Preparation: 1 hour. Playing the game: 15 minutes
Language focus:
   -My mother's sister is my        . -Her brother is my _____.  -Is he/she your _______?   -How old        

Aim of the game: Students to recognize family members and partner’s relatives.

INTRODUCTION
At the beginning of the class the teacher will ask to students some questions related to the topic. The questions will be:   -How old is your mother    ? -Who is your grandpa?  -How many brothers and sister do you have?

PREPARATION
1. The teacher divides the class in to groups and gives then a shirt of papers with some questions.
2. Students have to recognize which family member the question is asking for.

ACTIVITY
1. The students must get in groups.
2. Once they are in their group, students should read the question. Each student will have the opportunity to answer a question and try to recognize the family member the question is asking for.
3. Then if one group do not know the answer of one questions the opportunity to respond will be given to the other group.

4. At the end, the group that has more correct answer will be the winner.
